Welcome to AutoMile: AI Mileage Log ("AutoMile", "we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal privacy. This document describes how AutoMile handles your data, your rights, and the terms of using our application.
Privacy-First Commitment: AutoMile is designed with an on-device architecture. Your GPS driving logs, routes, and tax deduction reports are stored securely on your local device. We do not sell, rent, or monetize your location data.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
To provide automated driving detection, mileage logging, and tax deduction calculation, AutoMile accesses the following device permissions:
- Precise Location (GPS): Used solely when driving is detected to calculate trip mileage, log start/end locations, and determine tax-deductible driving distances. Location data remains on your device.
- Motion Coprocessor & Activity (CoreMotion): Used to automatically detect when you start or stop driving (automotive state) with zero battery impact, preventing unnecessary GPS usage when stationary.
- Notifications: Used to alert you when a drive has ended so you can classify it as Business or Personal.
2. In-App Purchases and Subscription Terms
AutoMile offers optional AutoMile PRO subscriptions (Monthly, Annual with a 3-day free trial, and Lifetime purchase) to unlock unlimited automatic drive logs, advanced IRS reporting, and custom tax rates.
- Billing: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Managing Subscriptions: You can manage and cancel your subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings anytime after purchase.
- Free Trial: Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited if you purchase a subscription.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party SDKs strictly to handle payments and service reliability:
- Apple In-App Purchases: Handles all secure payment processing.
- RevenueCat: Used to manage in-app subscription receipts and entitlement validation. RevenueCat processes anonymous purchase tokens and does not track your location or identity.
4. Data Storage and Retention
All your driving logs, notes, and categorized trips are stored locally on your device via SwiftData. You have complete control over your data: deleting a trip inside the app immediately and permanently removes it from your storage.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
